The Process Engineer (PE) is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the existing and new processes, including plant layout, process flow, manufacturing methods and equipment.
Analyses production equipment requirements and recommends purchasing of capital equipment. Involved or leading the procurement of new equipment and the integration in the manufacturing process. Supports and may lead the APQP process and activities to continously improve performance.
The PE leads cross – functional teams and is required to work within a given budget and according to project timing, as well other deadlines. PE is in close contact with Management, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Production to maintain and support existing manufacturing. PE maintains direct link to suppliers (parts and equipment) as well as to customers for all technical questions. New projects require relationships with Sales, Purchasing and controlling and reporting to top management.
The PE is responsible for the preparation/development and implementation of new processes, equipments, products, tools and other changes and improvements throughout the existing manufacturing operations. This includes the evaluation, development, feasibility studies, design, cost estimates and preparation of appropriation requests, request and review of vendor bids and drawings. Focus is on problem solving strategies and leading cross-functional teams and projects to achieve desired results. PE is the owner of PFMEA and CP and is key to the implementation and maintaining of client EHS programs.
Related Duties:
1. Research and develop, select and implement, maintain and improve (to achieve) most economic and efficient manufacturing processes
2. OEE rate according plan and capex and operating cost within or below budget. Detailed documentation as required.
3. Implementation of lean concepts in flow, layout and inventory plan
4. Identify, support or lead CI programs
5. Leading or supporting projects such as new launches, new equipment, relocating or changes and additions to existing equipment
6. Advanced technical and functional skills and expertise in relevant technologies (machining, bending, welding,…) and equipment, including excellent trouble shooting capabilities
7. Creating work places in alignment with latest EHS, OSHAS, MIOSHA (and other applicable standards e.g. for robots) and ergonomic rules and guidelines
8. Sponsor of EHS program(s) as defined by EHS; lead and support the implementation and training thereof
9. KPI’s according benchmark and client expectations
10. Maintain: employee satisfaction; no finding during audits; no citations; no near miss; no first aids or reportable incidents
11. Control of projects in terms of timing, budget, EHS compliance and all other relevant criterias
12. Create savings due to successful selection and implementation of CI program(s)
13. Complete implementation and documentation, continously reinforce, maintain, improve and train, leading to “zero” findings at LST’s and EHS audits
14. Able to assist production to maintain, train and troubleshoot on current and future equipment
Required Skills & Education:
1. 5 years experience working for automotive tier 1 or 2 supplier is required
2. Bachelor of Sciences or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines is required
3. Fluent in English is required
4. Knowledge of basic German or French advantageous
5. Willing to travel as required
6. Team work oriented is required
7. Able to work in a fast pace organization is required
8. Aluminium experience strongly preferred
9. Good oral and writing communication skills are required
10. Computer skills are required
11. Must pass background and reference checks
12. Must have valid drivers license

2. Pay: $33-$36 per hour

4. Hours: Monday thru Friday 1st or 2nd shift, overtime on weekends may be required
